Barns can be difficult to extend. This one had additional difficulties in that the only place to put a garden room was into a considerable embankment which meant extensive earth works and ground- works being necessary. The garden room itself, designed to complement the existing barn structure, is part masonry construction and green oak frame and roof, with state of the art ventilation and lighting.
