Set in the heart of a residential and conservation area, this barn conversion in Oakham has turned a half-timbered, half-stone former stable and workshop building into a contemporary two bedroom home.
This was a complex and technically challenging renovation project; extensive repairs were carried out and the roof re-slated with reclaimed slates.
Internally, the barn has a contemporary feel with sliding folding doors from the living room and kitchen, opening out into a small paved courtyard.

The finished project was commended for the George Phillips Award in recognition of development which makes a significant contribution to conserving the built environment in Rutland.
