Does your home feel cramped? Are you and your family living on top of each other? Do you feel like your kitchen is too small to cook anything complicated? Or are you fed up with trying to run a business from your dining room table?
If you answered yes to any of those questions, you’re not alone.
It’s many people’s dream to live in the country – with the lure of wide open spaces, long walks and a slower pace of life. Barn conversions are often thought of as a way to achieve this dream.
Have you given up trying to find the perfect home in the ideal location? Are you tired of viewing properties where the downstairs looks great, but the bedrooms are too small (or the other way around)?

We were approached by our clients Dovebury Developments Limited in 2015 to look at the Yew Tree Farm site in Nailstone: a former working farm consisting of an existing 19th Century farmhouse and single storey brick barn plus a number of more recent steel frame agricultural buildings.
Initially the idea was to have a loft conversion, but after viewing the property and establishing what the client wanted, it was suggested that a single-storey extension to the rear of the property would also be a good option
With the construction works starting in earnest in early 2020, the Fallen Knight (or Knight’s Mews, as it is now known) has undergone a complete transformation. From its dilapidated and unloved state, it is now an impressive and well-finished development of new residential accommodation within throwing distance of the busy town centre.
