Bungalow Conversion Project – Testimonial
We were approached by our client who had a two-bedroom bungalow with a single detached garage in Ashby. They wished to convert to four bedrooms while also improving the living accommodation.
We produced our initial sketch proposals and, after some discussion with our client, we made some alterations and amendments to create their ideal scheme.
When our client was happy with the proposals, we sent the plans to North West Leicestershire Council for pre-application advice. Following a positive response, we submitted the planning application, and this was subsequently approved.
Following the receipt of the planning approval, the client instructed us to complete working drawings for the project to enable the builder to construct the work, as well as for building regulations approval. These plans were also sent to a structural engineer so they could work out the size of the steelwork required.
Construction work is now underway, and we look forward to seeing the finished project.
Our client sent us the following note just before building work was set to commence:
“We just wanted to take a moment out of our day to reflect on the past few months and say thank you.
From the first meeting with David to the almost overnight changes Simon adapted, and the quick turnaround from the structural drawings from Stuart, the whole experience has been made enjoyable by every person we have worked with or spoken to. Lesley, you have been so patient with me, and Emma with my panicky calls and emails when building control were talking rubbish.
You took a brief and made something better than we could have ever hoped. Nothing has been too much trouble. In two weeks, the first workmen will be onsite to start the footings for our forever home.
We heard horror stories from others and experienced some too before finding you, about designers running away with ideas or just not being on the same page, meaning the experience was ruined. This has been far from the truth for us with you.
We look forward to sharing photos when the build is finished, but for now thank you once again ever so much for making it a painless and enjoyable experience, and for having the creative vision to give us the opportunity for everything we ever wanted and more.”
