Three years running – that’s how many times we’ve made it to the finals of the ProCon Leicestershire Awards – and we’re thrilled to announce that our Chaveney Road project in Quorn has been shortlisted for Small Residential Scheme of the Year 2025.
The ProCon Awards celebrate the best of Leicestershire’s built environment and the people who develop, design and construct winning developments. Making it through the initial judging process and site visit stage is always competitive, so we’re pleased to see this project recognised alongside some excellent schemes from across the county.
A sensitive infill done well
The Chaveney Road property is a bespoke self-build dwelling developed by Mr and Mrs Smith. It sits to the rear of their former home in Quorn, occupying what was once a substantial garden plot.
This type of sensitive infill development requires careful thought. Quorn is a highly sought-after village and any new build needs to sit harmoniously with its surroundings whilst delivering quality design and sustainability. The challenge was finding that balance between respecting the architectural character of the locality and creating something that worked for the unusual shape of the plot.
The resulting scheme includes some traditional design features but incorporates a contemporary internal feel with generously sized rooms and the latest environmental and technological benefits. It’s a good example of how thoughtful design can make the most of an opportunity without compromising the character of an established area.
Looking ahead to finals night
The ProCon Awards will be held at Leicester City FC’s King Power Stadium in November. We’re up against some strong competition – the standard is always high at these events – but we’re excited to be in the top three on finals night.
Having won the Best Medium Residential Scheme award in 2023 and been shortlisted again in 2024, we know what it takes to deliver projects that stand out. Whether we take home the trophy this year or not, being recognised three years in a row is something the whole team can be proud of.
