Ashby de la Zouch

Initially the idea was to have a loft conversion, but after viewing the property and establishing what the client wanted, it was suggested that a single-storey extension to the rear of the property would also be a good option

This Edwardian style house dates back to around 1900 however, around 20 years ago a lot of the original character was lost during the renovation of the dwelling.

The initial concept was for a loft conversion to create a fifth bedroom acting as the master suite with views to Ashby Castle.

Following a site visit, it was obvious that this house had great potential and that a loft conversion on its own would not make the most of this stunning property.

One of the main flaws of the existing dwelling was the location and size of the kitchen, therefore it was decided that a single-storey extension to the rear of the property would open the ground floor up to create a stunning kitchen/dining/living area overlooking the beautiful garden to the rear.

The property is one of our most talked-about designs in recent years and has been featured in the February 2021 edition of Kitchens, Bedrooms and Bathrooms as the front cover article.

The project continues to attract clients as the owners created an Instagram profile for the property which gained over 20,000 followers.
